The Riesling Ried "Rothenbart" Erste Lage 2023 comes from a high-altitude, wind-exposed terraced vineyard in the Traisental at up to 380m above sea level. The meager, sandy-stony soils of limestone-dolomite conglomerate give the wine a pronounced minerality. After whole-bunch pressing, the Riesling is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged on fine lees for eight months. On the palate, it is taut and fresh with delicate tropical fruit, present acidity, and a salty-lemon finish. An elegant, characterful Riesling with great tension and aging potential.
